The Classic Generation 

Hezekiah (Kye) Mizrahi is the only son of the late Daniel Mizrahi. His father died in World War I during which time he and his family lived with an aunt who was abusive toward him and his older sister (Lizbeth/Lizzie). While his sister fought nightmares and sought solace from their mother (Elena), he withdrew not letting anyone into the secret places of his head and heart. Toward the end of the war his family was kicked out of his aunt's home and went to live with their great-aunts (Maira and Lizette) who took them in with open arms. It was during this time that he got closer to his impulsive cousin Kailee Hoffman. After the war his mother remarried his uncle (David)  who was his father's twin brother. While his sister connected rather easily with their new step-father, Kye has never seen the man as much of a father and has continued to keep his distance. Over the years most have just accepted him as being withdrawn and no longer ask questions or push him to heal. Through his sister's encouragement he did have a solid friend group during his teen years (including their cousins Kailee and Kinley) that they would go and see movies with and went to prom with. He even dated a girl but after a roller coaster relationship playing with each others emotions, she eventually ended it leaving Hezekiah to question if love and affection would ever be in his future.
